Christmas services will be held on both Christmas Eve (December 24) and Christmas Day (December 25) for whenever guests prefer to worship. Christmas Show
Carnival Liberty is another Conquest-class vessel that entered service in 2005. She was the first ship in the fleet to receive all the FUN 2.0 enhancements in 2011, including popular venues Guy’s Burger Joint and the Alchemy Bar. The Carnival Luminosa was formerly known as Costa Luminosa before she transferred from the sister brand Costa Cruises in 2022. The Spirit-class vessel began sailing following a dry dock to receive her new Carnival colors in September 2022. The new addition to the fleet departed on her first guest sailing in November 2022 from Brisbane in, Australia. Carnival Sunrise is a completely new cruise ship and departed on her inaugural voyage in April 2019.
Celebration
The Carnival cruise ship underwent a huge $200 million transformation and is now part of the Sunshine-class, which also includes Carnival Radiance and Carnival Sunshine. The vessel was previously known as Carnival Triumph, which originally entered service in 1999. Carnival Celebration is the second Excel-class vessel and sister ship to Mardi Gras.

Celebration was retired from Carnival's fleet in April 2008 to be used for a new sister company Iberocruceros as Grand Celebration. Carnival Cruise Lines retired Holiday in November 2009 and she began operating for Iberocruceros as Grand Holiday in May 2010. She departed on her inaugural voyage in March 1998 and since then has undergone 10 dry docks, with the latest adding the ship’s new red, white, and blue livery. The Carnival ship became the first in the new Sunshine class after completing a major bow-to-stern transformation in November 2013.
NEXT-LEVEL FUN IS MAKING BIG HEADLINES
She last sailed for Cruise & Maritime Voyages from Spring 2015 to 2020 as the Magellan until Cruise & Maritime Voyages ceased operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was then sold at auction and was scrapped at Alang, India in early 2021. As of December 4, 2023, the newest Carnival cruise ship is the Carnival Jubilee. The second ship in the Excel-class and fully powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) at 183,521 gross tons, the new vessel is operating from Port Canaveral, Florida, from December 23, 2023.
Her inaugural season saw her setting sail from Miami, whisking passengers away to the Bahamas and the Caribbean on sunny escapes. Seajets is planning to turn the ship into a floating hotel in Liverpool for the 2021 Grand National, but she was resold for scrap due to high operating costs. She was renamed Mages and sailed to Alang, India, for scrapping in January 2021. She sailed from Alabama to the western Caribbean until 2009, when she was transferred to the fleet of Iberocruceros, another cruise line owned by Carnival Corp. and renamed Grand Holiday. After a few other cruise lines and the ultimate name of Topaz sailing under the Peace Boat Organization, she was retired and laid up in April 2008. Some have been scrapped, and some continue to sail under other cruise lines today.
Only one vessel will not be decorated by the first week of December, but with good reason. The upcoming Carnival Jubilee – welcoming guests for the first time on December 23, 2023 – will join the fleet in full festive glory, as she will have her holiday decorations onboard from December 20. Of course, the solemn and thoughtful aspects of the season aren’t to be forgotten, even at sea. All Carnival ships will feature a special Christmas service on the night of December 24 or December 25, depending on the sailing.
This makes the ship a great place to call home for a while, gathering with your friends and family. For one thing, there’s Halloween all October long, where costumes at sea are just the beginning. When Thanksgiving comes along, it calls for a feast… with absolutely no cooking on your part. Christmas festivities are a big deal, combining solemn traditions with jolly fun… and a huge tree. Finally, we close out the year — and begin the next one — with New Year’s Eve traditions like a huge party… and the party isn’t complete without an after-party.

Carnival Panorama is the final Vista-class class cruise ship and was built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. She entered service in 2019 with her inaugural voyage in December of that year. Carnival Panorama is currently the fleet’s only ship with a Sky Zone, Trampoline Park. The ship’s godmother is Dr. Lucille O’Neal, mother of Carnival Cruise Line’s Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal.

The schedule for decorating different cruise ships for the holidays depends on a variety of factors. Because seasonal decorations are not stored onboard, ships can only be in port while the decorations are loaded and set up. It isn’t just daily activities that will have a festive flair during the holiday sailing season.
For the holiday season, our Spirit of the Season Moments and Holiday Show will be featured on several sail dates prior to Christmas. Guests are invited to wear festive attire for the caroling parties, and may even be surprised with a visit from a special North Pole resident to help celebrate the season. Competitive activities will also have a holiday flair, including Christmas and holiday-themed trivia contests and Bingo games. Guests can also try their hand to be the best at Christmas and holiday arts and crafts.
While cruise vacations are often focused on fun and excitement, guests who want to mark the holiday with solemn expressions of faith will have the opportunity to do so. A few days ago I posted the schedule for when each Carnival ship will be decorated for Christmas. Continuing our countdown to holiday cruise season, here are the special onboard activities that will be happening on all Carnival ships through the month of December. Specific days, times, and locations (unless already noted on the schedule below) will be available on your daily Fun Times or via the HUB app once you board. The Carnival cruise ship is 133,500 gross tons with a guest capacity of 4,008 at double occupancy, slightly more than her sister ships Carnival Vista and Horizon. Carnival Cruise Line goes beyond the older Fantasy-class vessels such as the Holiday-class.

Carnival Firenze is 135,156 gross tons and has a passenger capacity of 4,126 at double occupancy, along with 1,424 crew members. The very first guests to sail on the new ship, which debuts from Galveston, Texas on December 23, will be the first ever to see her holiday celebrations. Holiday cruises are much beloved traditions for many cruise passengers, and a wonderful way to enjoy the cheer of the season without the stress of cleaning, cooking, decorating, and other preparations.
